Stepping Stones was established in 2004 when the company opened its educational toy store in Wellfield Road, Roath, Cardiff. Situated in a busy suburb of the city the shop is situated in one of Cardiff’s favourite streets renowned for its choice of independent shops and unique boutiques. Opened by husband and wife team Paul and Dawn James, the shop rapidly built an excellent reputation for stocking unique gifts for children bringing in many toys and gifts from all over the world.

Stepping Stones Retail and Online

The shop is open Monday to Friday 9.30am to 5.30pm and Saturday 9.00am to 5.30pm. Prior to Christmas it is open on a Sunday from 11.00am to 3.00pm from the Sunday at the end of the half term week.. The shop sells a variety of educational and high quality toys including famous brands such as Lego, HABA, Le Toy Van, Mudpuppy, eeBoo, Meccano, Djeco, Moulin Roty, Schleich and many brands not so well known such as Holztiger, Halilitt, Alex and Vulli.

In 2008, Stepping Stones Marketing was formed to act as a distribution company to the UK retail market. The division is currently the sole UK distributor for two of the leading US Educational Toy and game companies - Mudpuppy (www.mudpuppy.com) and eeBoo (www.eeboo.com), as well as its distributing its own brand of educational resources under the Stepping Stones Marketing brand.
